ACC3 jaaroverzicht seizoen 2014: wederom een 'walk in the park'

Dank!

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, eight lessons from a championships win

ACC3champ 14092013Puntacc3champs 14092013[by Richard & Robert Wolfe]     A big thanks to everyone who was there last sunday supporting us during the final game of the season. A very exiting game indeed as we were head to head with HCC in the rankings so playing each other at ACC made it a true "championship game". A game, like most in cricket, that carried many lessons to be learnt. And where lessons are learnt, they need to be shared, so here you go. Eh, here you go first to the 'Read more/Lees meer', the next page after the jump.

Two extremes (ACC3)

Let me start by not giving some lame excuse for not writing our previous report against CCN (I just simply forgot). Having that off my chest, have to admit it was a marvellous game. We had good weather, our team was completed by all three zulfis so not much of a contest was expected from the team at the bottom of the table. Especially since our last encouter where we won by 9 wickets..

A warm welcome (ACC3)

This summer, unluckily we had bad weather every other Sunday. Last Sunday was no different either. Rain was expected all day. It looked like we will not have a match but R&W captain called our team anyway to the club in a hope to get a reduced over match. Which was a good call after all.

Good comeback (ACC3)

Weather prediction was that it will be 0mm rain in Amstelveen so we were happy since a week before we did not get to play because of rain. Our match was against Hercules (to whom we lost our first match with a bit of hard luck). We were ready to take our revenge this time and watch the eurocup final on time.

Déjà vu with an excellent view (ACC3)

Weather has been really good to us this summer when it comes to playing cricket. We were determined to win this match and with this plan we all gathered up at Shell Fuel station at A4. Of course, not everyone got the memo in time..

Mental Strength (ACC3)

After having won our last week’s tough game, we were on a high. Even the weather unexpectedly was really good considering the forecasts earlier. It was sunny and warm. We were upbeat and thinking and acting as it was going to be an easy win…

Rain, Death Bowling & Outstanding Partnerships (ACC3)

The Dutch weather had come to his sences and gave us rain, rain and bit more rain after the few nice and warm days. And for cricketers, this was the worst weather to play cricket. Contrary to other klasses, rain and not even snow can stop us playing cricket.
According to many this was, for now, THE match in the first leg of the season and what a match it was.

Wides, 200+ run partnership and a century (ACC3)

Hot. As simple as that, it was just a very hot day and we had to play away so obviously, gathering earlier than normal. This time it was CC Nieuwegein (CCN) to beat. Given the fact that they played overgangsklasse last year, it could turn out to be an interesting game.

The “ACC parking lot” is where our convoy started its journey towards Nieuwegein. But ofcourse we couldn’t just drive directly to them, we had to stop for milk (someone really insisted), fuel (nobody was willing to push the car back) and some smokes (people need to relax too).

26 wins and a draw out of 30 (ACC3)

Date Thursday 17th 2012. Location Hercules Cricket Club Utrecht. Time 11:00am. History was about to be written. It was a good sunny day to play cricket. Since we are so eager to play cricket, some would say, the “JANOON” (= utmost passion) for cricket, we used the acc parking lot to play Pakistani style Galli cricket while waiting for the whole team to gather up.
Rules are simple: only defense shots allowed, no pacers only spinners, shots in air is out. If beaten then out. Caught with one hand on one bounce is out. In other words, “out” is the keyword here.
